Windows Vista TaskBar
The TaskBar is the like the name suggests, the Task Bar where all your windows (Tasks) show, Microsoft introduced the TaskBar in windows 95, Little has cvhanged to the taskbar, the most feature of the TaskBar in windows Vista is the thumbnail view.
Sure it has transparency, but that is something you will stop noticing after using vista for some time, and the transparency is lost whenever you Maximise any window... so don't expect to utelize the entier screen for something and have a part of a window under the taskbar to keep an eye on it, it don't work
gotcha: When kam vedbrat (a lead developer on AERO) demonstarted AERO in a video Microsoft published, he restored all windows to a non maximized size, then ran Windows Media Player to show us how the video played under the TaskBar, So, now we know what he was holding back, is this by design ?
So lets get back to our beloved thumbnail view, The thumbnail view is live, you can see video running in the thumbnail that appears when you hover your mouse above a button.
So, that is something neat about it, Surely you will not be watching video there, but it is usefull for those who need to flip from window to window and keep checking the status and current window of applications, this one is good i must admit, i am already hooked up on using it.
Also a nice thing i mentioned in the page about the start menu, you can now drag shortcuts from the programs froup for example into0 the quick launch toolbar, Also nice
*Will be back once i remember something (Bad or good) about the taskbar
