Windows media Player 11
Much of the technology in Windows Media Player is behind the scene, A media player that was banned from shipping with windows Vista in Europe due to legal issues (Simply because it ships with windows making people not need to buy - try other media players)
Windows media player 11 can be installed on Windows XP, it is available for download from the Microsoft website.
Although there is a fairly easy way to extract and separate the media player from the Genuine windows advantage software (Microsoft has not put a real effort to protect it or protect much of it's other updates), it is meant to install on Licensed Windows XP copies, and will not (out of the box) install on a pirated windows XP.
Anyway, Should you upgrade if you have XP ? i would say NO or Not Yet, and the reasons are here.

Another would be my ZEN Touch, A few months ago, i updated the Firmware of the ZEN Touch to use play for sure, that way i could synchronize and use it with Windows Media Player 10, 10.5, and it did work on my XP machene up to the time i updated to Windows Media Player 11 ! then suddenly, it does not work, And my computer does not recognise it, Please pay attention here, Not only was synchronisation with Windows media player 11 not working, the device and the "computer" do not interact in any way other than the computer displaying the "not recognised error message"
What's in it ?
Urge (the new music service from MTV) is integrated into this edition of Windows Media Player, As a separate component, If you chose not to install URGE with windows media Player, and then you click on Urge, You are presented with an agreement, Click agree and it will install.
Urge allows you (Like the itunes store) To buy Music tracks, It also allows you to get a subscription and (Listen) all you want.
*If you do not install URGE, you will get a Napster Link at the top, right under that napster link is a small arrow you click to see the word URGE, click that to see the license and start installing
